Opening its doors on January 25th 2024, this Japanese inspired venue promises an unforgettable experience for the city’s discerning audience. The name, drawing inspiration from the auspicious Japanese numbers 7 and 8 featuring a dragon motif woven into the number 8, pays homage to the captivating dragon mural that graces the bar’s ceiling, setting the tone for an enthralling and elegant ambiance.
7EVENTY8 welcomes guests into a space adorned with a rich, dark colour palette punctuated by bursts of vibrant Japanese motifs. Gold accents and deep red hues create a visually stunning experience. Mirrored walls, traditional designs, and vases provide an authentic touch. The pièce de résistance, the dragon mural on the ceiling, is a visual masterpiece. The Ode to Ueshima, a twist on Espresso Martini, tells the captivating story of Tadao Ueshima, the ‘Father of Coffee in Japan.’ Other unique creations include Shinjiro’s Way, a twist on a white Negroni, and Roots Of Sekiyawa, a modern take on an Old Fashion. Cocktails such as Nozuchi’s Touch, Togarashi Sense, and Forbidden Shunga, pay homage to Japanese culture and folklore, ensuring an immersive experience for every guest.
Leading the 7EVENTY8 team is Sumosan Founder and CEO Janina Wolkow, along with the expertise of Hisham Abou Khodor and Orsu Loviconi. With over 10 years of experience in the Dubai F&B scene, Hisham brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from his previous roles at Coya Dubai, Galaxy Bar, Sushi Samba Dubai, and Chic Nonna. Orsu Loviconi, joins the team as Bar Manager, hailing from Galaxy Bar Dubai. His experience includes guest shifts and masterclasses at prestigious venues, including The Ritz Carlton Hong Kong and The Four Seasons Hong Kong.
