This new addition to Dubai's brunch scene might have a lot of catching up to do, but Salvaje is well worth a visit if you're after a brunch spot that isn't as overwhelming as some of the regular spots tend to be. That's not to say that Salvaje is quiet - not at all, for the welcome Latin beats will have you doing a little dance right to your table. There's a very impressive display of sushi and salads (the crab salad gets our thumbs up) to get your appetite going, along with freshly cut sashimi and even a mountain of oysters that is hard to pass by. Everything is swiftly replenished by chefs expertly crafting every roll behind the counters, all while patrons mingle at the expansive bar. Main courses vary from burger sliders to chicken skewers, and they're portioned for a single person, so we'd advise to move on to mains only when you've eaten enough sushi to sink a small boat. Our choices of skirt steak and black cod were both well flavored and the perfect way to round off our meal. Dessert is a mix of small bites such as brownies, macarons, and carrot cake, but make a beeline for the coconut tres leches and thank us later. Overall, brunch at Salvaje is a nice way to catch up with friends to the tune of energetic Latin beats.
