TakaHisa unveils a Michelin-Star collaboration with Sushi Kibatani

TakaHisa Japanese Restaurant invites guests to embark on an extraordinary culinary journey with a special collaboration featuring Michelin-starred Edo-style sushi haven, Sushi Kibatani, located in Kanazawa, Ishikawa prefecture in Japan. Set to take place from the 2nd to the 4th of February 2024, this exclusive event will bring together the culinary brilliance of Chefs Taka and Hisa from TakaHisa with the acclaimed owner and Chef Mitsuhiro Kibatani from Sushi Kibatani.

The award-winning Sushi Kibatani was recently affected by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the Ishikawa prefecture on 1st January 2024.  This is a positive step as part of  Chef Kibatani’s efforts to restore and revitalise businesses affected in Ishikawa. The purposeful collaboration unfolds as a once-in-a lifetime opportunity for Dubai residents and visitors to experience Ishikawa in its full glory. 

Guests can choose from three seating slots: 1 pm, 6 pm, and 9 pm for a two-hour dining experience on the 3 days. Priced at AED 3000 per person, the collaboration dinner features a multi-course omakase menu fusing Dubai’s tenacity with the vivacity of Ishikawa’s most renowned sushi restaurant. The collaborative effort between TakaHisa and Kibatani spotlights traditional Japanese cuisine by focusing on the sublime seafood from across the country. 

The culinary presentation is a nod to Kanazawa, a historic town on Japan’s west coast renowned for its classical architecture and meticulously landscaped gardens. Chef Mitsuhiro Kibatani, a culinary maestro, will transport guests to the heart of Kanazawa with meticulously crafted dishes that pay homage to the city’s rich cultural heritage. Through this collaboration, Chef Mitsuhiro Kibatani, brings to Dubai his passion for premium Japanese seafood, Hokuriku fish and his mastery of Edo-style sushi making. Known for his commitment to using almost exclusively local fish, Chef Kibatani’s culinary creations are a testament to the rich diversity of Hokuriku’s seafood. His expertise in fish aging techniques further adds depth and complexity to the dining experience.
